Echeveria imbricata

It is a very common and much loved hybrid, considered one of the oldest, artificially created in the mid-nineteenth century from the crossing between Echeveria glauca and Echeveria gibbiflora var. metallic. It is highly appreciated for its extreme adaptability to all environments, combined with a perfectly geometric appearance, consisting of rosettes, that look like a wonderful flower, flattened on top. It has an unusual bluish color, opacified by the whitish pruina, that covers it and enriched by pink edges. Perhaps not many know, that this succulent was in the past commonly and jokingly called "Echeveria imbricata hens and chicks", to identify one of its main characteristics: it is a plant, that multiplies very quickly, forming numerous tufts of smaller rosettes around the mother plant, which help to confer charm and enrich its timeless beauty!
