Drimia altissima

An extremely particular perennial plant, characterized by a large bulb, partially covered by the ground and formed by whitish layers, as well covered by old brownish leaves in order to protect it. From it sprout long, lanceolate, glabrous leaves of a rich and vibrant green. A notable feature of this plant is its inflorescence, which appears before the leaves on the top of a stem that can exceed one meter in height. During the flowering period it is impossible to look away from the beauty of the stem, thickly covered with bell-shaped flowers, of a fresh white or greenish white color.
