Coryphantha gladiispina

Wild looking cactus, consisting of a globose stem of a bright green, tending to become slightly cylindrical with growth and equipped with conical tubercles very prominent. At the apex of the latter, from roundish white areolas, come out greyish radial spines, long and thin, arranged like a ray; the central spines are instead one or two, almost black, and turn outwards for a length of even 3 cm and a robustness that gives the species the name "gladiispina", from the Latin "spine similar to a sword". At the apex of the cactus, large, pale yellow flowers bloom, with a silky sheen that is truly incomparable.
