Description:

Pleasant cactus characterized by a globose stem, slightly depressed at the apex, which with the growth tends to become slightly cylindrical while maintaining a reduced size. It’s equipped with spherical tubercles that are very marked and perfectly symmetrical, that protrude from the stem in a marked and softly pointed way. From large roundish and whitish areolas come out white radial thorns rather robust and long, well straight and radiated around the areola, which tend to be dyed at the apex of a clear dark, almost black, color. With the growth the plant will sometimes be equipped with very robust central awl thorns. At the apex of the cactus, in summer, will bloom in the middle of the fluff large solitary flowers of an intense yellow, characterized by a peculiar luster similar to silk, perfect to give your environments a truly unique charm and elegance!

Plant care:

It requires a lot of light throughout the year, however, avoid direct sunlight especially during the hottest hours of the day.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 5 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water moderately and only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water it once a week in spring and summer, reduce it to once every two months in autumn and to suspend it completely in winter.

The best soil is a well draining one, for example formed by a mix of peat and pumice so that water does not stagnate.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
