A rare cactacea plant that clusters a lot with time, which is why it is particularly sought after and is highly appreciated by green collectors and cactus lovers. Its green stem has a globular shape with slightly tuberculous ribs, with age it tends to a light gray color and lignifies at the base. Along the edge of the ribs it tends to take on a black color that creates a beautiful and particular contrast. From its oval and slightly downy areoles long and stiff spines grow, which are brownish at first, and then change the color to dark gray. Flowering occurs in summer, but only on older plants, blooming with bright yellow apical flowers.
