Very special cactus, made up of a columnar stem, which in nature exceeds one meter in height, maintaining a maximum diameter of 3 or 4 cm and tending to grow merged with other stems or to branch early at the base. The body of a vivid light green is deeply furrowed by multiple closely spaced ribs, completely covered with thin and very straight spines of a lively yellow-gold. From spring to all summer, this particular plant will delight you with majestic flowers, which even exceed 5 cm in length, with a funnel shape and vibrant colors on the notes of red, fuchsia and pink: a real touch of joy, which contrasts nicely with the equally bright colors of the cactus, for a combination that causes a remarkable chromatic explosion, impossible to ignore!

Plant care:
It likes an exposure to full sun in rather airy locations.
It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 10 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.
Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water it once a week in spring and summer, reduce it to once every two months in autumn, and to suspend it completely in winter.
The best soil is a well-draining one, even better if further enriched with inert materials such as pumice, sand or lapilli.
They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
