Cleistocactus ritteri

It is a columnar cactus with a shrubby habit that can grow up to 1.5 m in height. It produces long erect stems of about 3-4 cm in diameter, of a bright green color, densely covered by numerous whitish spines, that are thin and flexible, soft to the touch. This dense spiny "down" protects the plant in its natural habitat from the intense sun and frost. During the flowering season, lemon-yellow flowers bloom along the stems. The Cleistocactus ritteri is easy to grow, so it is also ideal for those who doesn't have a green thumb.
