Cheiridopsis verrucosa

Marvelous miniature succulent, whose bodies does not exceed 2-3 cm of height, but rather tends to spread horizontally till they form a pleasant pillow made of multiple heads of various dimensions. The plant is constituted of a couple of extremely fleshy and almost globose leaves, similar under many aspects to the Pleiospilos family; the foliage is fused together, the foliage is fused together, separating only in the apical part with a central fissure from which, at the beginning of spring, large flowers with filiform petals bloom on the notes of a bright yellow. The epidermis of Cheiridopsis takes on pleasant light green shades studded with microscopic darker dots (hence the name of the species); the latter are translucent, able to let sunlight into the whole succulent body which is often partially underground in nature and allowing it to perform chlorophyll photosynthesis in the best possible way.
