Cheiridopsis pillansii

It is a very particular dwarf succulent, consisting of extremely short stems, which do not exceed a few centimeters in height, but rather tend to develop horizontally, covering large horizontal surfaces with their fleshy leaves with rounded tips. The foliage has a smooth, light grayish appearance, with darker and translucent specks, that characterize the whole genus. The new leaves are generated from the center of the gap between the older leaves, which, once dried, will act as a protective sheath for the new shoots. From the same crack, in autumn, pleasantly fragrant yellow flowers bloom, sometimes even larger than the plant itself.
