Description:

The variegated form of this cactaceae presents the typical yellow zones in the exact points where the chlorophyll is absent; such zones will never be identical from one plant to another, thus making each exemplar absolutely unique and, for this reason, very sought after by collectors. This hybrid of Chamaecereus and Lobivia, is a small cactus with erect posture, which with the time ramifies at the base. Its green stem has well defined ribs by thick whitish areolae, which form a continuous line. Its thick tiny spines cover almost entirely the stem. The strength of this plant is its spectacular flowering, which can generate over twenty flowers at a time. The inflorescences are large, funnel-shaped and with multiple shades, which make it ideal to give a magnificent touch of color to your garden.

Plant care:

It requires a lot of light throughout the year, however, avoid direct sunlight especially during the hottest hours of the day.

It prefers rather mild temperatures, however it still survives even at temperatures close to freezing if the soil is dry.

Water moderately and only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water it once a week in spring and summer, and reduce watering to once every two months in autumn and winter.

The best soil is a well-draining and porous one, even better if further enriched with 50% of inert materials such as pumice, lapilli or clay.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
