Description:
It is a fast-growing shrub that develops a caudiciform trunk (caudex), that may reach up 20 meters in height. It has a smooth green colored surface, marbled with gray. The leaves are very large, thin and of an elliptical shape, ending with a slightly pointed apex; their color initially is brownish, which turns green with age. Flowering occurs from winter to spring, blooming with very particular and attractive flowers, with petals and pistils colored in bright purple and streaked with pink.

Plant care:
It requires a lot of brightness and likes direct sun rays.
It likes intense tropical heat, but does not withstand temperatures close to freezing, therefore it is advisable to shelter it in dry places during the winter period.
It requires a lot of water during the hot periods since it does not stagnate water in the roots. On the other hand, in winter, when it loses its leaves and it goes into vegetative rest, it is advisable to keep it dry.
A suitable substrate for cactaceae is an optimal solution, as long as it is well draining.
They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
