Biophytum

This genus consists of herbaceous plants found in tropical/subtropical areas worldwide. The peculiarity of these plants is that their leaves are sensitive to light and shock: the leaves close as soon as they are subjected to a shock. This genus includes about 50 different species of plants but with these characteristics that unite them. They may have oval, long leaves, arranged in pairs or opposite. Colors range from dark green, light green, brown in relation to the species or the conditions of the environment around them. In many regions of Africa some of these plants are used to create medicines. Biophytum flowers also vary depending on the variety; they can be white, yellow, white-pink, orange, and also have different shapes. A plant that requires well-draining soil, so as to avoid water stagnation and thus the creation of root rot. It can be placed indoors in your home, in sunny and airy positions while temperatures should not exceed the minimum threshold of 18-20 degrees as the plants are sensitive to cold and not resistant to low temperatures.
