Avonia vespertina

Avonia vespertina is a wonderful succulent dwarf, a small miniature jewel generally consisting of a swollen caudex, slightly woody with growth, which takes on extravagant and asymmetrical shapes. From the bulge depart small slender branches completely covered by white paper scales that, in addition to protecting the plant from atmospheric agents, give it a unique elegance and attention to microscopic details. This plant has a rather slow growth, but at the same time it is extremely long-lived and resistant. Among the branches bloom delicate candid solitary flowers that open at sunset (hence the name of the species that literally means "of the evening").
