Austrocylindropuntia pachypus f. crestata

The crested shape of this cactacea has the typical fan arrangement, which makes each specimen unique and so never exactly the same as the others, that is why it is extremely sought after by collectors. In its normal form, A. pachypus is a columnar and lightly branched cactus, which in nature can reach up to 2 meters in height. Its stem is of a beautiful bright green, equipped with hexagonal and rather flat tubercles, among which, from yellow woolly, three-dimensional and rounded areoles emerge yellowish but tending to brown thorns, very thin, long and well straight. The standing out feature of this cactus lies in the fascinating contrast between symmetry and wild nature!
