Astrophytum asterias hybrid cv. Fiveribs (CITES)

The monstrous shape of a cactaceae presents anomalies, for example asymmetries in the stem, diversity of the thorns or particular protuberances that make that specimen absolutely unique and never identical to others, for this reason extremely appreciated by connoisseurs. It is considered one of the most beautiful Astrophytum ever, highly sought after for its rarity due to the very few specimens present in nature. In its normal form it is a globose cactus, depressed at the apex and further flattened in the center, consists of large and slightly protruding ribs, at the center of each of which are noted peculiar white and silky areoles adorned with white dots. When it’s grown up, at the apex will bloom giant yellow flowers with an intense red throat that create an extremely lively appearance. The same name indicates the appearance similar to a star for the arrangement of the union between areolas and ribs: its symmetry is really unmatched!
