Astrophytum asterias

It is considered one of the most beautiful Astrophytums ever, highly sought after for its rarity due to the very few specimens found in nature. Globose body, depressed at the apex and further flattened in the center, is made up of wide and slightly protruding ribs. in the center of those you can see peculiar white and silky areoles adorned with white dots. When it’s time, giant yellow flowers with an intense red center will blossom at its apex. The name “asterias” indicates the star-like appearance due to the arrangement of areoles and ribs: its symmetry is truly unparalleled!
