Description:

It is a plant not found in nature, but obtained for the first time in a Chinese nursery with an incredible cross between Astrophytum ornatum and Leuchtenbergia principis. It has an absolutely unusual and original shape, in which the globose and dotted aspect of Astrophytum marries with the elongated and thorny tubercles similar to Leuchtenbergia. Its solitary stem, of a beautiful emerald green, does not reach remarkable dimensions and is pleasantly enriched by a thick white dot. The conical tubercles that protrude from the body of the cactus are very pronounced and often end with long flat spines similar to those of the genus Leuchtenbergia. From the apex of the cactus, the blossoming inflorescence is very similar to that of most Astrophytum, with large flowers with long petals usually yellow

Plant care:

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and especially never less than 10 º C, for this reason it is recommended to place it in sheltered and airy places during the winter.

Water moderately, only when the soil is completely dry. It’s enough once every two weeks in the spring and summer, a monthly reduction in the fall and suspend altogether in the winter.

It is optimal a well draining and mineral-rich substrate, for example a suitable soil for cacti, to which you can add pumice.

It does not need frequent fertilizations, it will be sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with the water of the waterings once a year.
