Arrojadoa penicillata

Extremely peculiar tropical cactus, which develops in long vertical stems similar to pencils with a maximum diameter of about 2 cm, for a total height that can reach in nature even 2 meters! From the bright green of the epidermis, short and very thin radial spines emerge, usually light colored, and longer and more rigid brownish central spines. A particular feature is the presence at the apex of the long stems, of a cephalium consisting of white fluff and brown bristles, so stunning that it gives the plant the Latin epithet of "brush cactus". Its perfection is accentuated when the cephalium is enriched with colour thanks to splendid fuchsia flowers that bloom on the top.
