Description:

A. aureispina is a cylindrical cactus covered with golden yellow thorns, hence the name 'aureispina'. Its green stem has many marked ribs. Above the ribs are yellow and woolly areolas from which its radial and central spines emerge: radials arranged in rays are thin and needle-like while the central ones are more robust and long, all of golden yellow color. The beautiful flowers of A. aureispina bloom at the apex of the stem, have a bell-shaped shape and flaunt bright shades of intense pink or red.
