Ariocarpus retusus

This rare cactus is highly appreciated by cactus collectors around the world for its particularly large tubercles. Generally a solitary plant of slow growth, which only after many years of life can reach about 25 cm in diameter and 10 cm in height. It grows in the shape of a flattened rosette seen at the apex, which is of a green-gray or bluish color, with the foliage covered with a white woolly down. In autumn you can admire its magnificent white or light pink flowers, which open up during the day.
