Description:

Aptenia cordifolia is a plant made up of very branched and quite fleshy stems, from which numerous elongated heart-shaped leaflets of a lively bright green grow. This species usually does not grow more than 7-10 cm, but can rise if it can cling to nearby vegetation. During the spring and summer period, small, pretty daisy-like pink flowers emerge, able to bloom several times during the year if the temperature in which it is placed is mild and pleasant. This plant is perfect for embellishing in a refined but also original way the place where it will be placed . The variegated shape of the succulent has the typical lighter areas in the exact points where chlorophyll is absent: these characteristics will never be the same from one plant to another, therefore each specimen will be absolutely unique!

Plant care:

Likes very bright spaces, even direct sunlight.

Native to hot South African areas, it prefers high temperatures, while in winter it is better to shelter it, especially from humidity.

It prefers few water, therefore it is advisable to water only when the plant visibly needs it, because the leaves soften or the soil is too dry.

A highly draining substrate is optimal, therefore rich in gravel, lapilli or coarse sand.

It does not need frequent fertilization, it will be sufficient to dilute fertilizer with watering once a year.
