This particular succulent is named after Marthinus Lourens Malherbe, a skilled grower of succulent plants. It is a succulent definitely peculiar, commonly known as "giant jewel plant" for its size sometimes larger than other species of Aloinopsis, consists of a large rootstock from which depart small and delicate rosettes of leaves fan-shaped, flat and with edges with tubercles. The particularity of this exemplar consists in the presence of whitish tubercles only along the jagged margins, keeping smooth the foliar surface that pleasantly contrasts for its beautiful dark green. Already in the middle of winter you can admire the liveliness and beauty of the large flowers of A. malherbei, which will adorn your environments with salmon or pink notes.
