Aloe saponaria

This succulent takes its name 'Saponaria' for the unusual use of its sap, which has been used as soap since ancient times. Its dark green stem with white oval spotting, has long fleshy leaves with red serrations at the margins, initially it is erect, tending to flatten in more mature plants. Its inflorescences occur mainly from spring to summer blooming, on long stems, with numerous showy hanging salmon pink flowers.
