Do you want to give your rooms an unusual and absolutely original charm? Here is the right plant for you: Albuca spiralis has an extremely particular aspect, impossible to find in other species! It is characterized by an ovoid bulb that does not exceed a few centimeters in diameter, wrinkled and partially exposed out of the ground, from which the real flagships of this succulent emerge: numerous filiform and cylindrical leaves, of a beautiful intense green, developing upwards, ending at the tip in strongly curled spirals which gave it the common name of “corkscrew plant”. In the variegated form, the succulent has some yellow leaves due to the lack of chlorophyll, which create a further contrast and make each specimen absolutely unique and, consequently, extremely sought after by true connoisseurs! Another absolutely original aspect is also its growth, which occurs in winter, generating pleasant bell-shaped flowers that fade from yellow to greenish and emit a delicate vanilla smell, while in the hot season Albuca spiralis goes into vegetative rest and lets its leaves to dry and lose them completely. Due to its ease of cultivation and its resistance to low temperatures (the cold helps to form more curls!), this plant is perfect for adorning rock gardens, making them pleasant and flowering even in winter, when most of the others species will instead be dormant!
