Albuca namaquensis

Very beautiful succulent, extremely ornamental, consisting of a small bulb underground or, sometimes, partially exposed, of succulent consistency and covered by a paper surface that wraps it like a protection. From the bulb depart extremely thin stems of a beautiful lively emerald green, similar to real blades of grass that, in bright and dry conditions, tend to curl like a corkscrew. This is a characteristic that the species shares with Albuca spiralis, from which it differs, however, mainly for the consistency of the stems: easily recognizable, the foliage of A. namaquensis is abundantly rough to the touch, often even covered by a thick and short layer of hair that helps to make the overall appearance of succulent almost silvery. In the midst of the lively green threads, wonderful bell-shaped flowers of a soft and characteristic yellow bloom.
