Peculiar succulent formed by a glossy light green bulb, usually almost completely exposed out of the ground and often covered by a sort of paper sheath that protects it in cold periods. With growth it can reach over 10 cm in diameter, often tending to cluster with the formation of new small bulbils on the sides of the main one. From the center of the bulb, during the vegetative season, beautiful ornamental leaves emerge in pairs, narrow and even more than half a meter long, which end in showy points and tend to fall in wonderful cascades of a beautiful emerald green. Its inflorescences also grow together with the leaves, which bloom at the apex of long peduncles from the center of the bulb and are arranged in peculiar conical clusters, similar to real extremely fragrant spikes consisting of small star-shaped flowers of a delicate white streaked with green.
