Aeonium 'Emerald flame'

Succulent obtained in the nursery from the crossing between two different species of Aeonium. It is a wonderful exempplar consisting of a robust succulent stem, from which grows a large rosette and the upper surface almost flat, with of long leaves tending to widen close to the apex, then ending in a modest tip. The entire leaf surface is pleasantly surrounded by microscopically ciliated margins; the real strength of A. 'Emerald flame' is the epidermis, which takes on a brilliant emerald green hue that makes it very showy and lively, so peculiar as to give the name itself to the species ("emerald flame").
