Aeonium arboreum var. atropurpureum 'Zwartkop'

This beautiful succulent plant is also known as 'Black Tree Aeonium'. Its name derives from the word "zwartkop" which in the Afrikaans language means "black head" due to the numerous rosettes on the top of its almost black stems. Its glossy burgundy-black leaves the more they are exposed to the direct sun, the more they become black. As it grows, this plant loses its basal leaves and discovers its brown smooth trunk. In spring you can admire its beautiful yellow flowers, which bloom from the center of the rosette. It is a perfect succulent plant to give a touch of liveliness to your balconies or window sills or to use in your exclusive plant compositions.
