Acanthocalycium peitscherianum f. variegated

Solitary cactus, from the typical globose shape slightly depressed at the apex. It has a greyish-green stem equipped with strongly acute and slightly serrated ribs on which, from large white areoles, thin and rather long brown-greyish spines emerge, similar to well straight needles. The variegated shape of this cactus presents the typical lighter areas in the exact points where the chlorophyll is absent: these characteristics will never be the same from one plant to another, therefore each exemplar will be absolutely unique! That’s not all: in the flowering period its wild appearance comes in a pleasant contrast with the large flowers that bloom in shades of white and delicate pink, giving it a new and extremely elegant look.
