Wonderful exemplar of cactus very sought after in its variegated form. The variegations make each plant unique and unmistakable because they are never identical. M. winterae f. variegata is a globe-shaped cactus, usually solitary and reaches big dimensions. Its stem has a green colour, has quadrangular tubercles that are very delineated among which grows a white down. The yellow variegation creates a strong contrast with the green colour of the stem, for a very attractive visual impact. The thorns are robust, yellow or brown with darker shades on the tips. During the flowering period, beautiful yellow-greenish flowers bloom at the top of the plant.
