Mammillaria sempervivi f. variegated (Variegated)

The variegated shape of this cactus has yellowish spots or streaks in places where there is a lack of chlorophyll; such spots will never be identical in different plants, making each one unique and for this reason very appreciated by collectors. In its normal form it is a globose cactus slightly depressed at the apex that tends in nature to remain almost completely underground to protect itself from atmospheric agents. On the contrary, in cultivation it shows in full its beautiful dark green color and the prominent pyramidal tubercles, pleasantly separated from each other by abundant candid fluff. From the latter come out the radial spines similar to whitish bristles accompanied by central spines much more robust and dark, tending to reddish-brown. Around the apex of the cactus bloom in spring small but pretty pink flowers, with a characteristic darker central line, which surround the plant crowning it with a touch of vivacity and delicacy at the same time!
