Mammillaria muehlenpfordtii f. variegated (Variegated)

It is a pleasant cactus with a solitary posture, which can tend to tuft to the base with the growth of the plant. The variegated shape of this cactus presents the typical lighter areas in the exact points where the chlorophyll is absent: these characteristics will never be the same from one plant to another, therefore each exemplar will be absolutely unique and, for this reason, highly sought after by collectors. It has green globose stems that with the growth become cylindrical, equipped with multiple spines: the radial ones, which cover almost entirely the whole body of the plant, are small and thin of an almost vitreous white; the central ones are longer, curved outwards and brownish-yellow, tending to darken on the tips. In the flowering season it produces at the apex small flowers, arranged in a ring, of a beautiful color that varies from light pink to bright pink.
