Description:
The variegated shape of this cactus has the typical yellow areas in the exact points where chlorophyll is absent: these characteristics will never be the same from one plant to another, therefore each specimen will be absolutely unique and, for this reason, highly sought after by collectors. This cactacea is also known as “Carmen pincushion cactus” ,it is a small globose cactacea. Its green stem is completely covered with small, soft and woolly thorns. On its conical tubercles, more than one hundred very thin light yellow thorns are formed and arranged in the shape of a star. It generates numerous flowers arranged in a corolla on the apex, usually of a cream color with pleasant pink shades.

Plant care:
It likes an exposure to full sun in rather airy locations.
It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 5 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.
Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water it once a week in spring and summer, reduce watering to once every two months in autumn, and to suspend it completely in winter.
The best soil is a well-draining one, even better if further enriched with inert materials such as pumice, sand or lapilli.
They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
