This plant is characterized by a globose body with depressed apex, which with growth can become slightly elongated. The pale green stem, equipped with widely cylindrical tubercles, is completely covered by thin and not very long spines of pure white, sometimes with pinkish tip, which create a very scenic complex. The variegated shape of this cactus has clearer areas at the exact points where the chlorophyll is absent; such areas are never the same from one plant to another, therefore each specimen is absolutely unique, never identical to another and for this extremely sought after by collectors! It is one of the most loved cacti for its geometric perfection and its candid appearance that makes it commonly called "snowball": very simple to grow and extremely ornamental at the same time!
