A solitary cactus of a globular and slightly cylindrical shape, which over time tends to cluster at the base. It is a very particular plant, due to its beautiful stem, that has a yellow variegation, that makes each plant unique. It has well-defined tubercles, on the apex of which white areoles, spaced apart from each other, can be seen. From the areoles stiff curved yellowish-brown spines protrude. From late spring to summer, it blooms with numerous pinkish-white funnel-shaped flowers, that crown the top of the plant (even several times a year).
