Small globular cactus with an initially solitary habit that, over time, clusters at the base. In the variegated form, the green stem can show color variations in the points where chlorophyll is missing, a feature that determines the originality of each individual. This cactacea has broad ribs with well-marked tubercles, from which downy white and oval areoles are formed. The spines are thick and robust, slightly flattened towards the stem, of a yellow-cream color with reddish shades at the base. During summer, large and beautiful funnel-shaped flowers of a pinkish-white color, bloom.
