Beautiful globe-shaped cactus, slightly flattened at the apex and not reaching large size. Its intense green stem attracts attention thanks to it’s very shiny surface. In addition to this, the yellowish variegation creates a fantastic harmony of colors making the cactaceae very appreciated by collectors. It has some marked ribs at the apex but that, going down, tend to have less relief. It's spines are sparse and whitish, thin and curved towards the stem almost to wrap it in a way similar to the claws of a spider, characteristic that has conferred it the common name of "spider cactus”. The flowering period is spring-summer, during which, G. denudatum f. variegated will give us the magnificent delicate white or pink flowers.
