It is a succulent plant with an upright habit, that over time tends to branch out along the stem, reaching considerable dimensions and heights; some of them can reach up to 9 meters or more. Its stem, of a green color with yellowish variegations, has well marked ribs, surrounded by small and short coupled thorns. It is a very popular plant for its resemblance to a cactus and for its very particular color.
