Agave filifera (Variegated)

A perennial succulent plant, which forms medium-sized rosettes, reaching over time up to 65 cm in width. Its leaves are long and narrow, with an erect habit, which are characterized by the presence of long white filaments from which it takes its name 'Filifera'. One of its strengths is its resistance to cold, which makes it easy to grow even for beginners. Flowering occurs only on mature specimens (after 10 years) in a spectacular way, blooming, on a large central stem (may reach up to 2.5 meters high), with many bell-shaped flowers of a reddish green color. The sap of A. Filifera is used for the production of a traditional Mexican liqueur called "pulque".
