Urginea maritima (Succulents)

The name of the species comes from the Latin word “maritimus” - “marine, of the sea”, in fact this plant comes from the coastal regions of the Mediterranean. It is a perennial succulent, which produces a pyriform bulb of about 20 cm in diameter, from which long, lance-shaped leaves of an intense green color grow. This plant is much loved by succulent collectors for its wonderful inflorescences: in late summer it produces a huge peduncle about 2 m long, on which a spike of a hundred small white 6-petalled flowers is formed. Synonym: Drimia maritima.
