These small shrub plants, which never exceed 20 centimeters in height, are a real miniature bushy tree! By their nature, they take on the suggestive shape of bonsai with the thick woody and caudiciform stem and the thickening of the foliage equipped with small swollen fleshy leaves, crowned at the apex by graceful white bristles (hence the name Trichodiadema, which means precisely "crown of hairs"). It is a plant much loved by bonsai collectors and beyond, for the fantastic combination of the decorative forms of the shrub and the graceful and unique forms of the foliage: a genus that cannot be missed in the collection of connoisseurs! Here are some easy tips for its care and cultivation: It likes very bright places, however, avoid direct sunlight during the hottest hours of the day. It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 6 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period. Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once a week in spring and summer, reduce watering to once a month during autumn-winter and then suspend it completely. A soil suitable for cacti is an optimal solution, even better if further mixed with pumice or lapilli. They do not need frequent fertilization, it will be sufficient to dilute a specific fertilizer with watering once a year.
