Schwantesia triebneri (Succulents)

This succulent specimen native to South Africa has a low bearing but is able to carpet vast areas in its natural habitat. In the areas of origin we usually find it in rocky and poor soils because also the climate is not very favorable. There are long periods of drought and the rains are only present in winter. The plant has adapted to these conditions to survive and in its leaves collects water reserves that it uses during drought periods. Its leaves are arranged in pairs, have an elongated shape and are light green/grey. The flowers bloom in the center of each pair of leaves, giving a touch of delicacy to the plant.
