Portulaca werdermannii (Succulents)

The name of the species was chosen in honor of the German botanist Erich Werdermann. It is a beautiful succulent with an often prostrated appearance towards the ground because of its extremely thin and soft stems. The leaves of P. werdermannii are really small with a cylindrical shape, slightly pointed at the apex, of a nice bright green that pleasantly contrasts with the abundant fluff present between one leaf and the other, distinctive characteristic of the species. During the flowering period, bright violet-fuchsia flowers bloom, commonly known in the origin zones as "onze horas", that mean eleven hours, due to their particularly short duration.
