Orbea ubomboensis (Succulents)

The name of this plant refers to Ubombo, South African area where the first exemplar was probably found. It is a succulent characterized by stems tending to prostrate towards the ground, which keep dimensions of a few centimeters long but often curled up to give life to small tufts of variable size. The stems are equipped with very protruding tubercles, similar to small soft teeth, and take on changing opaque green tones pleasantly streaked or spotted of brown-violet. The real strength of O. ubomboensis are the inflorescences: unlike the other species of the genus, its starry flowers are smaller, of a uniform dark shade and bloom near the apex of the stems; their velvety charm will be impossible to miss!
