Art. 34676
In nature it grows half dug in clayey soil between stones and under bushes. Out of the ground we can see only the translucent leaf part with the lighter veins. This succulent plant grows in a star-shaped rosette. The surface of the fleshy and smooth leaves is bright green. H. retusa stores water in its leaves to survive during drought periods. In cultivation it produces a lot of shoots, facilitating its reproduction. With the prolonged exposure to the direct sun, like all Haworthias, it may take on brown colors. Its not very decorative white flower emerges from a long and thin peduncle.
