It is a hybrid of 2 species: Haworthia truncata var. maughanii and Haworthia cooperi var. obtusa. It has elongated dark green leaves with a transparent triangular tip, arranged to form a particular rosette, similar to a gem, from which its name derives. The foliage is rough to the touch, small "teeth" can be seen on the edges.
