Haworthia badia (Succulents)

Succulent with a decidedly peculiar appearance, widely used also to give life to extremely rare hybridizations and with strongly ornamental characters. Placed in the typical low and compact rosette, it is characterized by triangular leaves, flat on the upper surface and strongly keeled on the lower one, fleshy and well pointed at the apex. This exemplar takes on extravagant brown tones that, with prolonged exposure to sunlight, fade towards intense reddish notes. A decidedly original aspect of H. badia is given by the longitudinal striations present along the upper surface, which is strongly wrinkled due to the three-dimensional papillae it is equipped with and, at the same time, has an almost completely transparent layer. The plant uses this trick as a sort of "window" to allow light to penetrate inside the leaves in order to carry out photosynthesis chlorophyll but, at the same time, gives the succulent an absolutely innovative and decidedly ornamental character!
