Euphorbia fianarantsoae (Succulents)

This magnificent exemplar of Euphorbia is native to Fianarantsoa in Madagascar ( hence the name ) and grows at a height of 1200-1600 m above sea level. It has a shrubby stem normally up to 50 cm tall and that tufts at the base. Along the stem there are thorns arranged in 2 or 3 of greyish white color. The leaves have a lanceolate shape, are green with reddish margins and tend to fall easily. Its flowers are small, with yellow petals that over time become red. E. fianarantsoae is much appreciated by collectors around the world for its particular appearance.
