Beautiful exemplar of succulent growing in the tropical forests of Veracruz, Mexico. It has the rosette arrangement, a common feature of all Echeveria, very wide and flattened. Its fleshy leaves have a narrow shape at the base that gradually widens towards the apex, ending with a tip. The skin has shades ranging from reddish gray or purple, depending on prolonged exposure to the sun. Its name comes from the Latin 'diffractens' which means 'to break', relative to the leaves that tend to fall easily when the flowers bloom. Flowering takes place in the period between November and January giving beautiful orange bell-shaped flowers.
