Conophytum velutinum (Succulents)

The name of the genus Conophytum derives from the Greek words "kònos" (cone) and "phytòn" (plant), due to the characteristic cone shape of the stem. It is a rare, slow-growing succulent plant, which clusters over time. Its body is made up of fleshy green heart-shaped leaves, velvety to the touch - from this particular characteristic derives its name C. velutinum. In autumn, during the day, its beautiful purple flowers open up, and once flowering is over, in the winter period the growth of the plant continues.
